Therapy that sees the whole picture

I believe that treatment should be culturally responsive and trauma-informed — and that the role of a therapist includes advocacy for clients and their communities. My background in gender studies shaped this belief, and my clinical training at community-based sites has deepened it.

I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD, identity questions, life transitions, and the stress of living through a political climate that directly impacts their safety and wellbeing. I've worked extensively with LGBTQIA+ clients, immigrant clients, and people carrying the weight of sexual violence and systemic marginalization.

Community-based experience

My clinical training has been rooted in community settings that serve people who are often underserved. At EMU's Community Behavioral Health Clinic, I built a caseload working with clients across a range of presenting concerns — from trauma and identity to daily stressors and transitions. At the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeastern Michigan, I provide behavioral health services to underserved children and families in the Metro Detroit area, addressing complex trauma, anxiety, depression, and social determinants of health.

Working in these settings has given me a deep understanding of how context shapes mental health — and a commitment to making care accessible, affirming, and real.

How I work

I draw primarily from CBT, CPT, and Behavioral Activation — evidence-based approaches that I adapt to each client's needs, identity, and history. I don't apply protocols mechanically. I listen first, understand the full picture, and build a plan that makes sense for your life.

I'm also learning about linguistically responsive care within the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community, and I'm committed to expanding my ability to serve clients across communication modalities.

Your pain has context. Your therapy should too.

Justice-Oriented Care

Therapy that ignores the systems you live in — the politics, the marginalization, the violence — isn't really seeing you. I bring the full picture into the room, because that's what it takes to actually help.
